Owner & Founder
This Feels Metal started the same way most great things do; accidentally, passionately, and at exactly the right time. When Cordelia first created TFM, it was meant to be nothing more than a place to dump gig content and reconnect with the scene she loved. After stepping away from live music for a while, she returned to find the local scene quieter, thinner, and missing the community she grew up with , the kind that once packed out the Masonic Hall to see bands like Thy Art Is Murder.
So she built the community she wished still existed.
Cordelia is the Owner and Founder of This Feels Metal – a no-bullshit, caring, extroverted and a little strange girly pop who has rebuilt her life and while trying to build local scene at the same time. Before TFM, she was a beauty therapist navigating a full-blown life overhaul: a career shift, a relationship change, and chronic illness that reshaped how she moved through the world.
Through it all, she never lost her love for heavy music, creativity, and connection. By day she works at a bank; by night she’s building something bigger than herself.
TFM grew fast. From a place to dumb content to zines, to events, to sold-out shows and the brand’s first tour. One of her proudest moments was TFM’s first sold-out gig, which raised $1,000 for LIVIN — proof that heavy music can make a heavy impact. The biggest moment, they really cemented TFM, was the first birthday gig for TFM, where people didn’t just show up, they showed up for each other. That was the moment it clicked: TFM wasn’t just a project anymore. It was community.
Everything Cordelia does is shaped by the belief that everyone deserves to feel part of something bigger. Whether you’re at a show, flipping through the quarterly, or diving into a chaotic event announcement at 2am, TFM exists to bring people together – loudly, proudly, and without apology.
This Feels Metal isn’t just a platform.
It’s a scene reborn.
And it started with Cordelia; someone who simply wanted to keep the music alive, and ended up building a home for everyone who felt the same.

Favourite gig/venue moment: Chelsea Grin, 2015 at Wrangler Studios. It was all ages and packed and literally the best experience of my life. 15 year old me was pretty cool I guess.
Fun fact: I cannot play an instrument to save my life.

Jesse McMahon lives and breathes heavy music. Since 2014 he’s been buried in the scene, playing in bands, grinding through lineups, and eventually fronting his own project; Inherit Nothing. Which has since torn up the east coast of Australia with more to come.
Booking shows started as a necessity, a way to get his band onstage. But it quickly turned into something bigger. From early days helping run shows at Retro Youth Café and Freeza, to lending a hand at Uprise Bookings, Jesse realised he wanted to take things further, to build something professional, consistent, and genuinely powerful for the bands he loves. Joining This Feels Metal was the obvious next step up.
Now, as TFM’s Bookings Manager, Jesse is the force behind the shows, tours, and opportunities that get heavy bands in front of new faces. He’s here to grow the scene, not just for Inherit Nothing, but for every artist pushing their sound, their passion, and their chaos onto a stage.
For Jesse, the local scene isn’t just “the scene.” It’s home. Whether it’s Melbourne, Sydney, or Albury, it’s where he sees his friends, his community, and the culture that shaped him. It’s family.

Char is the eyes of This Feels Metal. A Melbourne-based freelance photographer with a passport permanently half-packed, she’s been creating for as long as she can remember. Drawing, painting, and eventually picking up the camera that would become an extension of who she is.
Heavy music grabbed her early. Childhood nights watching The Crow and Queen of the Damned turned into a lifelong obsession with the soundtracks, the atmosphere, and the world that came with it. By seven years old she was already hooked, and she’s been documenting the culture ever since.
At TFM, Char is everywhere at once; shooting the chaos, the crowds, the sweat, the quiet moments no one else notices. If there’s a gig, you’ll see her sprinting between the pit and the stage, camera in hand and still making time for a cheeky mosh. Her dedication runs deep, she’ll find a way to a show because capturing these moments isn’t just work, it’s who she is.
She joined This Feels Metal because the community has always been her safe place, and TFM embodies that feeling better than anything else. What excites her most is the travel, the memories, and watching people fall in love with metal the same way she did. To her, the local scene isn’t just a crowd, it’s her home. A place where people pick you up when you fall and celebrate the moments that make the chaos worth it.

Favourite gig memory: Her first tour with Inherit Nothing: Albury to Bendigo to Melbourne.
Fun fact: If she’s broke, she’ll still find a way to get to the gig. Dedication is an understatement.
